(VOVworld) – President Tran Dai Quang arrived in Lima, Peru, on Thursday for 2016 APEC Economic Leaders week.

Under the theme “Quality Growth and Human Development”, APEC Peru 2016 focuses on regional economic connectivity and quality growth; a regional food market; globalization of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises; and human resource development.
Since joining APEC in 1998, Vietnam has actively contributed to the forum, putting forward initiatives and participating in 100 projects related to trade, investment, economic and technical cooperation, healthcare, food security, and anti-terrorism efforts. Vietnam has held several important posts in APEC cooperative mechanisms.
