President Tran Dai Quang receives Ambassadors to submit credential letters

(VOVworld) – President Tran Dai Quang receives a number of foreign ambassadors who presented their letters of credential on Thursday.

At a meeting with Indian Ambassador, Parvathaneni Harish, President Quang asked the Ambassador to work closely with Vietnam to deepen the India-VN strategic partnership established in 2007.

President Quang told Lee Hyuk, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, that Vietnam wants to enhance its strategic partnership with the Republic of Korea in all sectors. Vietnam wishes to continue receiving support from the Republic of Korea, including ODA.

Meeting with Kevin M. Isaac, the St. Kitts&Nevis Ambassador, President Quang expressed his delight in their improved bilateral relations, especially with the establishment of diplomatic ties in November 2013. He asked the Ambassador to be active in strengthening bilateral relations.

Receiving Carlson D. Apis, Ambassador of Micronesia, President Quang hoped that both countries will support each other at international forums and organizations, particularly the UN. He proposed that Micronesia vote for Vietnam’s nomination as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council in the 2020-2021 term and the International Law Commission (ILC) in the 2017-2021 term. He said Vietnam supports Micronesia and other island countries in the Southern Pacific Ocean in fostering relations with ASEAN.

Welcoming the Ambassador from Latvia, Maris Selga, to take up his mission in Vietnam, President Quang said both countries should exchange high-level delegations to enhance trade and investment relations. He asked Latvia to back Vietnam-EU relations, including the signing and ratification of the Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement.

Meeting with Malam Sambu, Guinea-Bissau’s Ambassador, President Quang asked Guinea-Bissau to support Vietnam’s nomination as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council in the 2020-2021 term, UNESCO General Director in the 2017-2021 term, and the International Law Commission (ILC) in the 2017-2021 term.
