In his Twitter, Mr. Trump wrote: “Numerous countries are being considered for the meeting, but would Peace House/Freedom House, on the border of North and South Korea, be a more representative, important and lasting site than a third party country”. South Korea's presidential office said Tuesday that the border truce village of Panmunjom, if chosen for the upcoming U.S.-North Korea summit, would serve as a meaningful venue to mark a "new milestone of peace."

Meanwhile, South Korean daily newspaper Munhwa Ilbo reported that South Korea is preparing to hold a trilateral summit in June and July this year with the US and North Korea. The newspaper said if the things go right, then relations between North Korea and Japan can be normalized this year and the six-party talks on the implementation of the "road map" for denuclearization of the Korean peninsula can be resumed.
