President Truong Tan Sang visits Laos

(VOVworld)- President Truong Tan Sang, his wife and a Vietnamese delegation arrived in Vientiane on Monday beginning an official visit to Laos at the invitation of the Lao Party leader and President Choumaly Sayasone. During talks held after the official welcoming ceremony, the Lao President emphasized the significance of President Sang’s visit saying it would contribute to strengthening the special traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries. President Sang expressed his belief that the Lao people will successfully fulfill the tasks set out at the 9th National Congress of the Lao Revolutionary Party. Sang said Vietnam supported Laos’ holding of the ASEAN Presidency in 2016.
The two leaders vowed to do their best to foster bilateral ties. They agreed to maintain delegation exchanges and strengthen bilateral cooperation in national defense and security and successfully implement agreements signed at the 37th session of the Vietnam-Laos Intergovernmental Committee. They agreed to complete the border markers rehabilitation by the end of this year.
That day, the Lao Party leader and President Choumaly Sayasone held a banquet in honor of the Vietnamese guests.
