(VOVworld) – President Truong Tan Sang on Tuesday held a working session with the southwestern region steering committee in Can Tho city.

He said the committee should create breakthroughs in agricultural production to help Vietnam achieve rapid and sustainable economic development while maintaining political security and social order in the region. During the remaining months of the year, he asked the committee to instruct preparations for party congresses at all levels toward the 12^th National Party Congress and coordinate the organizing of the 2014 Mekong Delta Economic Co-operation - Soc Trang forum.

Also on the same day, he visited Truc Lam Buddhist monastery in My Khanh commune in Phong Dien district.
