President urges Vietnam Bar Federation to improve human resource capacity

State President Truong Tan Sang has urged the Vietnam Bar Federation (VFB) to improve the capacity of their human resources to protect people’s legitimate rights and interests, justice, and the discipline of the law. President Sang, who is also head of the Central Steering Committee for Judicial Reform, was speaking during his meeting with the VBF’s Standing Committee in Hanoi on Thursday: “Our ultimate goal is to develop the socialist state ruled by law, of the people, by the people and for the people while protecting the ideology of the 9th National Party Congress given the increasing need for democracy in the society. All we want is to protect the rightness, justice and equality.”

The State leader urged the federation to uphold the role of lawyers in order to minimize unjust punishments and protect not only the people’s rights, but also the principle of law, the regime, and the country.
