Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam spoke at the conference.

During this period, Vietnamese journalism has developed quickly in terms of the number of publications, radio and TV channels and online newspapers. Many journalists have played active roles in the fight against social evils and have a high sense of responsibility in journalistic activities. Delegates also discussed the operation model, personnel and economic activities in the journalism sector. They said that the Press Law should have regulations to raise social responsibility and the tasks of press agencies and journalists. It is essential to have some supplements to the Law to enhance the efficiency of State management and assure stability in journalistic activities.
