(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has praised the Ministry of Industry and Trade for its organizational restructuring and administrative reform achievements.

At an online conference in Hanoi on Friday to review the sector’s performance last year and implement tasks for this year, the Prime Minister said a development vision should be defined: “To develop its industry, Vietnam should reduce its dependence on unsustainable advantages and natural resources like crude oil, coal, and ore. We should shift to a creative industry, in which technology will be the driving force and foundation for competition.”

Mr. Phuc called on the sector to continue to proactively integrate into the global economy, capitalize on free trade agreements, and achieve export goals for 2017. He also asked for measures to protect domestic goods in accordance with international law and build national brands of high-competitive products.
