Prime Minister asks transport sector to ensure project progress and quality

Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has asked the Ministry of Transport to take drastic measures to ensure traffic safety as 2012 is observed as Traffic Safety Year. Speaking at the sector’s conference to set out tasks for this year on Saturday in Hanoi, PM Dung said the Ministry should revise mechanism  and policies to speed up progress of transport projects and improve their quality by clarifying individual’ responsibilities. He also urged the transport sector to renew its planning of roads, railways, waterways and air routes. The ministry  aims to expand national highway No1 to 4 lanes and built some 2,000km of highways by 2020.
