Prime Minister calls for Bulgarian support for Vietnam-EU ties

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has urged Bulgaria, as the European Union’s Chair from January 2018, to support Vietnam in strengthening ties with the EU and push for early signing and ratification of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).

Receiving outgoing Bulgarian Ambassador Evgueni Stefanov Stoytchev in Hanoi on Wednesday, Mr. Phuc said he hopes that, with his experience and knowledge of Vietnam, the ambassador will continue to cultivate the strong friendship between the two nations.

Ambassador Stoytchev said Vietnam has been and will continue to be Bulgaria’s key partner in Southeast Asia. He agreed that there are still much potential for the two countries to tap in trade and investment and said he looks forward to firms from both sides finding more opportunities for partnership.
