At Tuesday’s reception in Hanoi for Italian Deputy Minister of Economic Development Ivan Scalfarotto, Mr. Phuc said the Vietnamese government will create favorable conditions for Italian investors.

He urged both sides to increase the exchange of high-ranking delegations, work closely to implement the 2017-2018 action plan on strategic partnership, continue organising strategic diplomatic and defence dialogues, and carry out activities marking 45 years of diplomatic ties.

He said Vietnam expects Italy to help speed up the EU’s signing and ratification of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA).

Scalfarotto said the Italian government and companies praise the Vietnamese government’s efforts on trade liberalization, adding that Italy considers Vietnam a friend and wants to increase two-way trade and investment in Vietnam, especially in green technologies.
