At the meeting, the PM granted the President’s decisions on appointment to new Cabinet members and told them that the hope for the country’s new achievements is a great responsibility entrusted to them by the Party, State and people. The government is determined to facilitate entrepreneurship, safeguard national sovereignty and drastically fight corruption and wastefulness, he said. He also admitted that the new government is facing challenges that need to be overcome, including the severe drought and saltwater intrusion in the Central Highlands and Mekong Delta, business shut-downs and limited revenues to the State budget. Added to the trouble is public concern over traffic safety and food safety. As it is three and a half months away from the election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly and the People’s Councils at all levels for 2016-2021, he asked the government to stay united and pool all possible resources for national development by driving back bureaucracy and promptly settling issues of public concern.
