(VOVworld) – On Tuesday in Hanoi, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc met athletes and coaches of Vietnam team, including shooter Hoang Xuan Vinh, who won a gold and a silver medal at the ongoing 2016 Rio Olympics. Mr. Phuc said the Vietnam team’s brilliant performance creates joy and pride to the nation and provides momentum for more achievement.

Prime Minister Phuc said he hopes Vietnamese sports will continue to shine at international and regional sport competitions: “From now on, Vietnamese sports, both top-notch and popular sports, will make further progress towards more rapid and sustainable development. I call on work to concentrate on sports of Vietnam’s advantage edge and create favorable conditions, including facility and nutrition programs, for coaches and athletes. Efforts should be made to make Vietnamese sports, first of all the shooting event, to flourish.”
