Prime Minister continues activities in Russia

(VOVWORLD) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Russia on Tuesday and briefed the Vietnamese community in Russia on political, social and economic achievements at home.

He asked the Embassy to focus on consular and community activities so that every Vietnamese in Russia is well taken care of. Mr. Phuc said the Party and Government have been improving policies affecting overseas Vietnamese and urged them to stay united, abide by local laws, and contribute to Vietnam-Russia relations.

During Mr.Phuc’s stay in Moscow, he and the Russian leaders will preside over a ceremony to launch Vietnam Year in Russia. Later he will attend the Vietnam-Russia Business Forum, hold meetings with major Russian businesses and Russian veterans who fought in Vietnam, and attend a ceremony to honor Russian citizens who have contributed to the bilateral relationship.

Before arriving in Moscow, Prime Minister Phuc met acting Governor of Saint Petersburg Alexander Beglov. Mr. Phuc said the Vietnamese government supports localities to boost cooperation and encourages localities to organize meaningful activities for the Vietnam Year in Russia, honor President Ho Chi Minh, and educate younger generations. He thanked the Saint Petersburg authorities for supporting the Vietnamese who are living there.
