(VOVworld) - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc left Hanoi on Friday for the Philippines to attend the 30th ASEAN Summit and related meetings in Manila through Saturday.

The Summit, under the theme “Partnering for Change, Engaging the World”, will be attended by leaders of the 10 ASEAN members. It is the first summit in 2017 under the Philippines’ ASEAN chairmanship.

The meeting will focus on implementing the ASEAN Community Vision 2025 and accompanying plans; enhancing ASEAN’s connectivity, solidarity, consensus, and central role; increasing ASEAN’s relations with partners; and discussing regional and international issues.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will also attend a meeting between ASEAN leaders and representatives of the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) and will have bilateral meetings with several other ASEAN leaders.
