(VOVworld)- Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung has addressed the opening session of the World Economic Forum on East Asia 2013 in Myanmar. He praised the good timing of the forum and its focus on regional integration and transition. Speaking in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday, the Prime Minister said that dynamic development in East Asia offered fresh opportunity for joint development and required more efforts in renovation and adjustment to fit in integration and fierce competitive environment. He emphasized the importance of cross border economic corridor and regional connectivity, which requires the engagement of government, development partners and the private sector. Prime Minister Dung says:“I urged businesses to invest more on socio economic projects for corporate, community and regional benefits. The Vietnamese government is willing to hold dialogue with the business community to ensure a favorable environment for all parties’ interests. Countries along economic corridors and development partners should strengthen cooperation fir regional development.”

The WEF on East Asia is one of the most prominent forums in the region and this is the first time Myanmar has been selected to organise this event.
