(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc paid a working visit to Ly Bon commune, Bao Lam district, Cao Bang province, on Sunday. He asked local authorities to make sure that everybody has enough essential goods for Tet or Lunar New Year holiday. He called for efforts to escape poverty: “People’s education is decisive to poverty reduction. The State will help local children access education. This is a long-term and fundamental measure to reduce poverty and to become rich.”

The Prime Minister delivered 100 gifts from the Vietnam Red Cross Society to poor households in Ly Bon.

On Sunday morning, the government leader attended a ceremony to inaugurate the Bao Lam hydropower plant in Ly Bon commune. The 30MW plant will generate an average of 124 million KWh per year.
