Prime Minister pledges improved business climate, competitiveness

(VOVworld) -  The Vietnamese Government is working to build a consistent and effective administrative system that facilitates development for the sake of people and enterprises, considering this the most important task towards 2020.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc made the commitment at the 2016 Vietnam Development Forum (VDF 2016) in Hanoi on Friday.

Addressing the forum themed “A constructive and action-oriented government – New driver for development”, PM Phuc said speeches and experts’ assessments at the forum were useful for government agencies in precisely evaluating Vietnam’s growth prospects amid unpredictable developments in the world, so as to adopt appropriate measures to achieve the goals.

According to PM Phuc, next year Vietnam will focus on improving the business climate and competitiveness, adding that another key solution was to push ahead with economic restructuring in combination with a growth model change and on increase in productivity, quality, and efficiency.

Vietnam will accelerate the equitisation process of State-owned enterprises, establish a specialized management agency of State capital at enterprises, and improve the management capacity and the efficiency of SOEs.
