He told a conference on National and ASEAN One-Door Mechanisms in Hanoi on Tuesday. “Vietnamese agencies have to propose breakthrough reforms to gain practical results and improve customs procedures to boost export, import, and international trade. It’s a driving force for Vietnam’s economic growth. Trade facilitation should be on par with tight management of fraud and smuggling activities, and protecting public health. Violators of food safety and hygiene regulations, and infringements to trade law must be severely punished.”

Prime Minister Phuc said Vietnam should be a good implementer of international commitments, and create the best conditions for foreign investors and tourists. Ministries and sectors are urged to review legal documents to simplify customs clearance in line with the government’s resolutions and action programs.
