Prime Minister urges to develop Tam Ky into a modern city

(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has urged the local people and authorities to build Tam Ky city, Quang Nam Province, into a modern city.

At a ceremony to mark the 110th founding anniversary of Tam Ky City on Wednesday, Mr. Phuc said that over the past years, Quang Nam Province has made considerable socio-economic achievements, developing industrial zones and urban areas, increasing production, and earning a revenue of 720 million USD. The Prime Minister asked local authorities and people to exert the greatest effort to successfully fulfill socio-economic tasks for the 2016 – 2020 period: “Good urban planning is needed and Tam Ky should become into a modern and green city, where the people enjoy sustainable development and clean environment. The city needs to invest in urban infrastructure and socio-cultural institutions. It is essential to develop trade, services, and industry; promote investment; and expand industrial parks in the area and create more jobs for local laborers. The city needs to establish zones specializing in goods production, apply advanced technology, and focus on economic efficiency and food safety”.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc also urged Tam Ky city to boost administrative reform and create favorable environment for investors.

On this occasion, Tam Ky was bestowed with the third-class Independence Order and recognized as a second-class city.
