Prime Minister visits Laos

(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung left Hanoi on Sunday for a two-day visit to Laos at the invitation of Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong. The visit is aimed at consolidating the traditional friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries. During his visit, Prime Minister Dung attended a ceremony to begin a kali salt-mining project in Kham muon province, which is one of Vietnam’s biggest investment projects overseas. He said the project is part of Vietnam’s planning for the development of the chemical industry. It reflects the Vietnamese Party, government and state’s concern for strengthening the traditional friendship, solidarity and comprehensive cooperation with Laos.

The same day, Prime Minister Dung visited the Ho Chi Minh President Memorial in Xieng-vang in Khammuane province. He asked Vietnamese people in the province to contribute to local development and relations between the two countries. He also asked the Vietnamese embassy and Consulate General in Savannakhet to care for the lives of Vietnamese people in Khammuane.
