Pham Thanh Noi of Tra Vinh province said: “the previous government, especially Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, was active in improving Vietnam’s relations with other countries, and helping it integrate fully into the international community. He succeeded in publicizing the East Sea issue and won consensus from many countries, including some major nations. I believe the new government will make Vietnam more prosperous.”

Nguyen Van Hao of Can Tho City said he hopes PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc and other cabinet members will do more to address key issues.

Hao added “first, I hope that preventing natural disasters will be given priority. Second, we should take more assertive measures in handling the East Sea issue. Once we do these things, Vietnam will become stronger and more prosperous.”

Nguyen Dung of Phu Nhan district in Ho Chi Minh City said: “I expect that Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc will pay more attention to public order and safety. We should find ways to reduce crime. I hope the Prime Minister will do more to create a national education system in which students will be given effective exams and graduates can find jobs.”

Voters in Hanoi said they hope the Prime Minister will concentrate on judicial reforms, protection of human rights, and the fight against corruption.

Nguyen Van Nguyen, Director of the Hung Nguyen Law Firm, said: “I believe Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, who has much experience in internal affairs and combating corruption and crimes, will work with the Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court and the Prosecutor General of the Supreme People’s Procuracy to step up judicial reforms, build a strong and transparent judicial system, promote justice and human rights, and pay more attention to the role of lawyers in fighting crime and preventing unjust verdicts and social criticism.”
