(VOVworld)- Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai has praised Quang Ninh province’s GDP growth rate and achievements in FDI attraction. At a conference on reforming investment promotion and improving competitive edge in Quang Ninh on Saturday, the Deputy Prime Minister asked the province to improve the provincial competitiveness index and international integration capacity and maintain its place among the top ten cities and provinces with best indexes. Hai urged the province to promote socio-economic development in close combination with national defense and prepare necessary conditions to develop Van Don into the first special administrative and economic zone. Over the past few years, world’s major investors including Las Vegas Sands of the US, Texthong of China, South Korea Aviation Corporation, Amata of Thailand, Vingroup and Becamex of Vietnam have visited Quang Ninh to seek investment opportunities. Quang Ninh has granted investment licenses to 39 FDI projects worth more than 1 billion USD.
