Reading culture promoted in Vietnam Book Day

(VOVWORLD) - The 5th Vietnam Book Day opened in Hanoi on Wednesday, featuring over 100 pavilions of nearly 80 publishers nationwide, showcasing 50,000 book titles.

During the 5-day festival, there will be 20 events, including the introduction of the book “Industry 4.0, revolution of convergence and saving” and “Library of international economic integration”. It will also feature talks on “Books – development and integration”. Minister of Information and Communications Truong Minh Tuan addressed the opening ceremony: "Over the past four years, the Vietnam Book Day has become a cultural event to promote reading culture in the community. It also contributes to supporting books for localities in the remote and ethnic minority areas which are thirsty for information and knowledge. The event also honors outstanding individuals who contribute greatly to the reading culture."

Other localities responded to the 5th Vietnam Book Day by holding exhibitions, book reading festivals, and contests.

During a seminar themed “Press in the digital era”, participants said the digital era influences life in many aspects, creating golden opportunities for communications.
