Revised Civil Code institutionalizes constitutional regulations on human rights protection

(VOVworld) – The Vietnam Fatherland Front and the Supreme People’s Court held a workshop to contribute opinions to the revised Civil Code in Hanoi on Tuesday. Delegates agreed that the draft revisions had been well prepared with a focus on the protection of human rights and legitimate citizen’s rights. They said, however, that the draft should clarify a number of issues such as the principles of volunteerism and equality, particularly equality between individuals and state agencies and between state and private agencies. There should also be mechanisms for reconciliation and legal measures in case reconciliation efforts failed. Delegates also gave their opinions on the role of the inspectorates in civil courts and the right of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to carry out legal procedures.
