An agreement on the implementation of the aid package was signed in Hanoi on Tuesday between representatives of Vietnam, the Korean embassy, and the UNDP.

The donation, which is channeled through the UNDP, will help flood-hit families improve their knowledge and make their houses resistant to upcoming storms and floods. Korean Ambassador Lee Hyuk said his country will continue to stand side by side with Vietnam to overcome challenges caused by climate change.

Damrey, which hit Vietnam last month, damaged more than 300,000 houses and affected more than 4.3 million people in the central region.
