(VOVworld) – Russian President Vladimir Putin received ASEAN leaders to the Russia-ASEAN summit in Sochi on Thursday. He said at a reception that Russia and ASEAN have similar views on many current issues.

He said the Sochi statement, scheduled to be released on May 20, will affirm the determination to raise bilateral relations to a new strategic level.
Russia and ASEAN will discuss their partnership in association with the Eurasian Economic Community, ASEAN, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
