Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Alexander Lukashevich, said in a regular briefing in Moscow on Thursday that the new move seriously undermines efforts towards a successful implementation of the ceasefire in east Ukraine, which was reached in the Belarusian capital of Mink on February 12. Lukashevich also accused a number of European countries, including Finland, of following the US in arming the Ukrainian army, in violation of the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT).

He also warned that Moscow-Washington ties would be further strained if citizens in eastern Ukraine “start being killed with the use of US weapons”. Mr. Lukashevich made the statement following information about the deployment of 300 US soldiers in Lvov province in Ukraine.
