Russia, France to cooperate in anti-terror

(VOVWORLD) -Russia and France have agreed to set up a joint working group to fight terrorism. The announcement was made during a joint press briefing of Russian President Vladimir Putin and French President Emmanuel Macron after their talks in Versailles, France.

Macron said the absolute priority is fighting together against terrorism, especially the Islamic State group. Russian President Vladimir Putin said that they have discussed different issues related to the Korean peninsula, implementation of the Minsk agreements on Ukraine and have tried to find a common ground. Macron and Putin agreed that they needed a new round of talks on the violence in eastern Ukraine. Macron wanted to bring about a "Normandy format" of talks, which would include French, Russian, Ukrainian and German leaders.
