The decision was made during visit to Cuba by Russian President Vladimir Putin. These units will help improve Cuba’s energy sector and double electricity output of this island country in the Caribbean to nearly 30,300 GW/s by 2030. The project is the first step of Russia’s 10 billion USD plan helping Cuba develop its energy sector as Cuba is trying to diversify production to be less dependent on petroleum and recycle to reduce production cost.
