Russia urges UN Security Council to hold meeting on Syria

(VOVWORLD) - The Russian mission to the UN asked the UN Security Council on Monday to hold an open meeting to discuss the outcomes of the Russia-Iran-Turkey summit on Syria. 

The request follows hightened attention to the situation in Syria’s Idlib province.

On Monday, Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said aerial and ground attacks should be stopped and a ceasefire should be set up.
