Russian expert praises Vietnam’s policies to fully tap human potential

(VOVWORLD) - Grigory Trofimchuk, Chairman of the Council of Experts of the Eurasian Ideas Foundation (EIF), has praised Vietnam’s achievements in national development and ensuring human rights after 35 years of its renewal process.

In an interview granted to Vietnam News Agency in Russia on Thursday, Trofimchuk said the Constitution of Vietnam has an exclusive provision on human rights and Doi Moi (Renewal) has facilitated its full implementation.

The Russian expert highlighted the role of the Communist Party of Vietnam in implementing and guaranteeing human rights.

Vietnam has made efforts to ensure the rights of its people during the last two years of the COVID-19 pandemic, eliminate the consequences of the SARS-CoV virus in Vietnam, and has shared its experience of fighting the pandemic with the world, said Trofimchuk.

He added that Vietnam has also made considerable efforts to coordinate with the international community on environmental issues and fighting for human rights, and participating in humanitarian missions, such as peace keeping mission in South Sudan.

Trofimchuk said that Vietnam's contribution should be recognized by the world and Vietnam is running for the UN Human Rights Council in the 2023-2025 tenure with a hope to contribute more to the world’s joint efforts to promote and protect human rights.
