Russian, US diplomats meet on sidelines of ASEAN meetings
(VOVWORLD) -Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Sunday that he believes the US is ready to resume a dialogue with Russia on complex issues despite bilateral tensions.

The statement came after a meeting between Lavrov and US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on the sidelines of the ASEAN forum in Manila. Lavrov said Russia's reaction to new US sanctions appeared to be Tillerson's top concern.
After the talks, the Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement affirming that Russia is ready for dialogue normalization with the US if the US gives up its confrontational policy. But, the Ministry added, Russia will retaliate against any US hostility.
