The proposal is to be submitted to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development for approval. Deputy Chief of the Directorate of Fisheries, Nguyen Quang Hung, says the regulation is inevitable and aims to raise fishermen's awareness on responsible fishing.

“This is an important proposal to regulate zoning and timing for fisheries exploitation to ensure resources recovery. This will develop maritime preservation areas and reproduction shores for fishes towards sustainable fishing, especially in river mouths,” said Mr. Hung.
