The event, themed “Science Parks in Empowering Growth Quality and Competitiveness of National Economy”, aims to exchange new models and organisations of Asian science parks. Dr Le Hoai Quoc, head of the Saigon Hi-Tech Park Management Board told a press conference on Thursday: “The conference will create an opportunity for Vietnamese managers, scientists and intellectuals to exchange and gain experience in hi-tech development from their foreign peers. This will be an opportunity for the host country to present their new products and boost international cooperation.”

ASPA is an international non-governmental organisation established in Japan in 1997 to promote development in the fields of science and technology, industry and economy in Asia. It now has 138 members, including three in Vietnam- Saigon Hi-tech Park, Da Nang Hi-tech Park and Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park.
