Secretary of State Mike Pompeo heads off to North Korea
(VOVWORLD) - Secretary of State Mike Pompeo headed off to North Korea on Friday under pressure to produce tangible progress at persuading the North to get rid of its nuclear weapons as President Donald Trump seeks a second summit with leader Kim Jong Un.
The US and North Korea need to build trust on each other, Pompeo told reporters on the flight to North Korea, adding that he hoped the two sides could agree on location and schedule for the next Trump-Kim meeting. Details of his upcoming meetings in North Korea are not revealed. Pompeo will visit China on Monday following his task in North Korea.
