(VOVworld) – Singapore conducted its largest-ever counter-terrorism exercise on October 17 and 18 to test its ability to respond to a potential terrorist attack.

The exercise involved more than 3,200 personnel from the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) and the Singapore Civil Defence Force under the Ministry of Home Affairs (SCDF). Security teams were sent to more than 360 locations, including public transportation hubs, shopping malls, residential areas, and immigration checkpoints. The exercise simulated a scenario in which Singapore’s intelligence agency received a terror alert and security forces were deployed to counter the attack.

The drill aimed to test the coordinated response of Singapore’s security forces to a terror attack, and raise public awareness of current threats.
