Singapore PM’s Vietnam visit creates firm foundation for closer bilateral ties

(VOVworld)-Vietnam and Singapore have enjoyed fruitful relations over the past years, said Vietnamese Ambassador to Singapore Nguyen Tien Minh at in interview with Vietnam News Agency ahead of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s visit to Vietnam next week.

According to Ambassador Minh, two-way trade has been growing to reach 14 billion USD. Singapore is Vietnam’s 6th biggest trade partner in the world and 2nd biggest trade partner in ASEAN. Vietnam ranks 12th among Singapore’s trade partners. Singapore is currently the 3rd largest foreign investor in Vietnam after Japan and South Korea, with total investment capital of 40 billion USD. Ambassador Minh noted that Prime Minister Lee Sien Loong’s visit will create the firm foundation for bilateral ties to grow further.
