South Korean President's 100 days in office

(VOVWORLD) - South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol held a press conference on Wednesday to mark 100 days since his inauguration.

Speaking at a televised event, Yoon reviewed what he has done and informed the people of his plans. He said he always puts the people at the center of his goals, saying the newly-established government has made efforts to restore the economy for the sake of the people, develop production, and promote strategic economic sectors.

His government has renewed regulations and policies, focusing on the private economic sector, following rules of the market economy, and taking care of ordinary people. Regarding foreign affairs and security, President Yoon said South Korea has made an effort to contribute to global peace and prosperity.

He promised to give the highest priority to ensuring people's livelihoods and growth momentum. The government will tighten finance and budget spending from 2023, reduce spending in the public sector, and restructure expenses. He pledged to listen to the people and the media to promptly fix problems arising in society.
