Sovereignty steles in Truong Sa recognized as national relic

(VOVworld) – Sovereignty steles in Song Tu Tay Island and Nam Yet Island in Truong Sa Island District have been recognized as a national historical relic.

In 2011, the steles were ranked at the provincial level. Nguyen Van Thich, Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa’s Relic Management Center, said the steles are of great significance in terms of history, architecture, and culture. He affirmed: “these steles are vivid evidence of Vietnam’s sovereignty over the Truong Sa Archipelago. They show the labor of our predecessors who had discovered and set up a life on Truong Sa.

Khanh Hoa has outlined a plan to embellish the steles and turn them into sightseeing places to highlight the Vietnam’s historical traditions.
