(VOVworld) – The 2017 “Spring on islands” program, hosted by Ho Chi Minh City’s Communist Youth Union, took place from Tuesday to Thursday in Cam Ranh, Khanh Hoa province.

Hundreds of artists and Youth Union members, along with over 3,000 naval soldiers participated in Chung (glutinous rice) cake wrapping and musical performances. They delivered Tet gifts and awarded scholarships to 50 children of disadvantaged families. Lieutenant-colonel Nguyen Huu Minh, Political Commissar of the 189^th Submarine Brigade, said: "The program shows the compassion that Ho Chi Minh City’s Party Committee, authorities, and people feel towards soldiers. It encourages them to be more determined in studying, training, and improving themselves to successfully fulfill their missions. It also creates a meaningful atmosphere for the Lunar New Year”.

This is the 6^th time the program has been organized.
