Sri Lanka publishes stamps honoring Ho Chi Minh

(VOVworld) - A set of stamps honoring President Ho Chi Minh was published at a ceremony in the capital Colombo of Sri Lanka on Monday to mark President Ho Chi Minh’s 124th birthday. According to Vietnamese Ambassador Ton Sinh Thanh, the publication helps to foster bilateral all-round relations which were founded by Uncle Ho in a number of Sri Lanka visits during his revolutionary cause.

The stamps were designed by painter Kumudu Tharaka with vivid, bright colors. All stamps feature the portrait of President Ho Chi Minh at the center and a flag of a yellow star on red background. The words “Ho Chi Minh (1890-1969)” are printed on the left and the words “Sri Lanka” are printed at the bottom in three languages of Sinhala, Tamil, and English.
