State President Truong Tan Sang receives Japanese legislator

(VOVworld) – Vietnamese-Japanese relations have seen great progress, with increasingly enhanced political trust. State President Truong Tan Sang was speaking at a reception for visiting Japanese legislator Keizo Takemi in Hanoi on Wednesday.

Mr. Sang thanked Japan for its active support for Vietnam’s socio-economic development through its Official Development Assistance Program over the past 20 years. He applauded the initiative for cooperation between the health sectors of the two countries in which Japan helped Vietnam to build Cho Ray 2 hospital, cooperating in cancer prevention and treatment, and the sharing of experiences in public health insurance. Mr. Sang expressed his belief that Keizo Takemi would continue to contribute to implementing cooperative agreements and fostering bilateral relations. Mr. Keizo Takemi affirmed the cooperation between Vietnam and Japan in the field of public health, saying that both sides would continue to issue mechanisms and policies to better implement public health insurance.

In another development, while receiving Japanese ambassador to Vietnam Hiroshi Fukada, on Wednesday in Hanoi, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung stressed Vietnamese-Japanese relations are developing strongly to strategic partnership level in various areas.

Mr. Hung expressed thanks for Japan’s assistance programs to Vietnam saying that these programs had been effectively implemented and made a great contribution to Vietnam’s socio-economic development. Mr. Hung affirmed that Vietnam’s National Assembly would do its best and work with the Japanese Diet and people to foster a Vietnam-Japan strategic partnership for development, peace and stability in the region and the world.

Ambassador Hiroshi Fukada said Japan’s government would exert every effort to further Vietnamese-Japanese cooperation in various areas, especially in economic, trade, investment, ODA, education and culture.
