Statue of Ho Chi Minh presented to Japanese city

(VOVWORLD) - A statue of President Ho Chi Minh was presented to Mimasaka city in Japan’s Okayama prefecture, on Tuesday.

Chairman of the Vietnamese President’s Office Dao Viet Trung presented the statue, which depicts Ho Chi Minh reading a newspaper, to representatives of the Mimasaka administration and people.

The first Ho Chi Minh statue in Japan was presented as Vietnam and Japan prepare to celebrate the 45th founding anniversary of their diplomatic ties next year.

On this occasion, the “Vietnam – Ho Chi Minh Space” was also inaugurated at the Mimasaka City Museum.

Mr. Trung said the statue of Ho Chi Minh is a symbol of the two countries’ friendship and extensive strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia.

Mimasaka officials reviewed cooperation and exchange activities between the city and Vietnamese partners over the years.
