Stoltenberg: Some NATO members support joining US-led alliance against IS

(VOVWORLD) - Some NATO allies believe joining the US-led coalition fighting the Islamic State group in Syria and Iraq could send a strong signal of support but would not involve a combat role, Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said Thursday.

Trump's visit to Riyadh, the first stop on his maiden international trip since taking office in January, will include concluding political and commercial agreements with Saudi Arabia, Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir said. Saudi Arabia agrees with the US administration's vision of the US role in eradicating terrorism, particularly ISIS and Al Qaeda. The Foreign Minister told reporters that Riyadh and Washington are considering several initiatives related to arms sales, economic and security cooperation, and fighting terrorism.
