Storm Nida strengthened in the East Sea

(VOVworld) - According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorology Forecasting, at 8 p.m. on July 31, storm Nida’s center was at 18.7 degrees north latitude and 121.2 degrees east longitude, north of Luzon island, Philippines, with winds up to 120 km per hour.

At 7 p.m. on August 1, Nida’s center is forecasted to be at 20.4 degrees north latitude and 116.8 degrees east longitude, approximately 360 km southeast off Hong Kong (China), with winds up to 150 km per hour.

National and foreign forecasters said the storm will make landfall in China’s southern region, but there is a possibility it will head for Vietnam’s northern area like storm Mirinae.
