Strengthened regional connectivity needed to boost economic development

(VOVworld) – The steering committees for the northwestern, central highlands, and southwestern region met in Can Tho city on Tuesday. In his address, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc asked the committees to raise the effectiveness of external relations and boost economic development in the border region. He also called for efforts to fight cross-border smuggling and drug trafficking. He said stronger regional connectivity was needed to boost economic development: “Regional connectivity should deal with economics and culture. Leaders from the relevant sectors should make appropriate plans to tap the potential of each region.”

Mr. Phuc also worked the Command of Military Zone 9 on the same day.
