The Center said Thaugsuban would be arrested, not on a charged of leading anti-government protests, but of leading an insurrection. The protest leader is also facing a court warrant, but armed resistance by his bodyguards is expected to impede the arrest. An attempt to capture 16 anti-government protest leaders by the Thai Centre for Maintaining Peace and Order will begin on Monday.
