(VOVworld) - Do Ba Ty, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, received the Most Noble Order conferred by the King of Thailand on Monday. The order was presented to Senior Lieutenant General Ty by Thailand's Supreme Commander Thanasak Patimaprakorn in Bangkok for his great contribution to the Kingdom of Thailand.

Ty said: “The Order is the symbol of friendship, cooperation, and strategic partnership between Vietnam and Thailand. It represents closer military-defense ties between the two countries and stronger friendship among ASEAN countries who are striving toward building an ASEAN community by 2015.”

Ty expressed his hope that Vietnam-Thailand relations will continue to develop in all fields for peace and stability in the region and the world. The Vietnam-Thailand strategic partnership has created favorable conditions for Ty to boost military-defense cooperation between the two armies, part of an action plan to concretize the Vietnam-Thailand strategic partnership.
