Thai police spokesman Prawut Thawornsiri said the South Bangkok Criminal Court issued the warrant based on CCTV footage of a man in a blue shirt kicking a bag into the water near the pier on the night of August 18th. The suspect faces charges of unauthorized possession of explosives, exploding a bomb that could cause harm and attempted murder, according to the warrant.
The Thai police have been focusing their investigation on Turkish nationals who entered Thailand shortly before the Erawan blast. CCTV footage shows a man in a yellow shirt with dark hair depositing a backpack in the packed shrine and leaving the scene before the explosion.
